State Representative James Hoops of Napoleon has cast his vote in favor of House Resolution 60, which advocates for the relocation of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Headquarters to Cleveland, Ohio.

"This resolution, I believe will serve to compliment and honor those Ohioans who each trailblazed paths of innovation and determination to make NASA the space program it is today. Relocating the NASA headquarters to Ohio would add yet another chapter in our state’s history book just as John Glenn, Neil Armstrong, Judith Resnik, James Lovell and William County’s own Terence Henricks had done before," stated Hoops.

The resolution outlines how Ohio is well-prepared and ideally situated to bolster NASA's future endeavors. Known for its leadership in aerospace innovation, Ohio boasts a skilled workforce and substantial infrastructure including international airports, railways, major highways, and a strong manufacturing base crucial for aerospace development. Facilities such as NASA Glenn Research Center, NASA Neil Armstrong Test Facility, and the Air Force Research Laboratory in Dayton are at the forefront of advanced aerospace research.

Moreover, the resolution emphasizes Ohio's historical significance as the birthplace of aviation and home to many prominent figures in space exploration. The state's proficiency in aerospace engineering, propulsion systems, and cybersecurity positions it as a strategic location for supporting NASA's operations alongside the Department of Defense and private-sector partners.
