State Representative Roy Klopfenstein (R-Haviland) has expressed his support for the Ohio House's decision to override Governor DeWine's veto of House Bill 68, also known as the SAFE Act and Save Women's Sports Act. In a statement, Klopfenstein emphasized the importance of this legislation in safeguarding Ohio's children and ensuring fairness in women's sports.
"Today, my colleagues and I fulfilled our commitment to safeguard Ohio's children by voting to uphold House Bill 68, overriding the Governor's veto," said Klopfenstein. "This legislation is designed to maintain fairness in women's sports, safeguarding our daughters' safety as they strive to achieve their dreams."
Klopfenstein further argued against the need for children to undergo surgical procedures or take medication to define themselves. He emphasized the importance of allowing children to enjoy their childhood without being coerced into irreversible medical choices.
The veto override of the SAFE Act will now be considered by the Ohio Senate.
