Enrollment Analysis: White students comprised 88.5% of Millcreek-West Unity Local School District's student body in 2023-24 school year

There were 446 white students enrolled in Millcreek-West Unity Local School District in the 2023-24 school year, an increase from the 444 white students in the previous school year, according to the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce.

Data showed that Millcreek-West Unity Local School District welcomed 504 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, white students made up 88.5% of the student body, making them the most represented ethnicity in the district.

Millcreek-West Unity Local School District roughly covers two schools within Williams County and has its main office in West Unity.

Among the two schools in Millcreek-West Unity Local School District, Hilltop Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2023-24 school year, with a total of 258 students.

In 2022, Ohio saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:15, which is better than the national average of 1:16. This marks an improvement for the state, especially compared to 2016, when the ratio reached its decade-high at 16.1 students per teacher.

Despite the apparent improvement, this positive trend is overshadowed by a general decline in public school enrollments, which was accelerated by the pandemic. This decline, aligned with the steady number of teachers in the state over the last 10 years, has led to low student-to-teacher ratios.
