FOIA Request to Henry County Regarding Public Records from January to October 2024 on October 7, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at NW Ohio Times have requested public records under the Ohio Open Records Law, §149.43 et seq. The request was sent to Henry County in Ohio on October 7, 2024.
The records requested include a list of FOIA logs sent to the county from January 1, 2024 till October 7, 2024. The fields requested for each log are as follows: Requester Name, Requester Organization, Request Content, Request Date, Request Complete Date and FOIA Status.
As a media organization dedicated to gathering and reporting news to the public, access to these public records is essential for us in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
Given our role in disseminating information and considering our status as a media organization, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as per standard practices. We await response from the relevant authorities at Henry County regarding this request.
