FOIA Request to Paulding County Regarding Vendor Payments from January 1, 2024, till September 26, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at NW Ohio Times have submitted a request for records under the Ohio Open Records Law, §149.43 et seq., to Paulding County. The requested records pertain specifically to all payments made to vendors during the period from January 1, 2024, until September 26, 2024.
The details we have sought include the vendor name, transaction date, transaction description, and amount for each payment made within this timeframe. As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, access to such public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
We believe that as media professionals engaged in disseminating information to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver for this request. We await a response from Paulding County and will continue our efforts towards promoting transparency in local government affairs.
