FOIA Request to Defiance County Regarding Vendor Payments in 2024 on September 26th.
As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability, we at NW Ohio Times have sent a request under the Ohio Open Records Law, §149.43 et seq., to Defiance County. The request pertains to all payments made to vendors from January 1st, 2024, till September 26th, 2024.
The specific details we have asked for include the vendor name, transaction date, transaction description, and the amount of each payment. We believe that access to these records is crucial for comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.
As a media organization dedicated to providing transparency and holding public institutions accountable, we consider it our responsibility to ensure that the public has access to this information. We also believe that as media professionals involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver for this request.
