Brookville Fire Department Burn Ban Effective Immediately

Effective Immediately! Due to a RED FLAG WEATHER WARNING issued by the National Weather Service for our area, an immediate burn ban on all open burning is in effect TODAY until 8pm.

This is In addition to the current ODNR Burn Ban that is in effect 6am-6pm each day in October and November, a Burn Ban is in effect TODAY until 8pm.

The Red Flag Warning relates to dangerous conditions that will occur to day...high winds and low humidity along with the extremely dry conditions we've been experiencing.

Once the Burn Ban expires, residents are encouraged to use extreme caution when burning. Having a means to readily extinguish fire is a must. And those who smoke are asked to properly dispose of their smoking materials - a huge fire started earlier this week just north of us in Darke County. That fire was likely caused by a discarded cigarette. Fires start easily this time of year and are spread rapidly by winds, especially in the daytime hours.

Please help us keep our community Fire-Safe!
