Once again we are receiving reports of fraudulent calls throughout our area with scammers posing as law enforcement or court employees threatening a warrant for missing jury duty, and demanding that a fine be paid.
Neither the Sheriff's Office nor the courts will issue a warrant for missing jury duty. Neither entity collects any sort of fine or fee via telephone. And neither will ask for or accept payment via pre-paid gift cards.
